Importance/Necessity of Learning English [Dha.B-14]
English is no longer the language of the English alone; it is an international language. It is difficult, sometimes impossible, to do without English. Pilots fly over and land in, many countries. They have to use English everywhere. Officers at the airport and tourist guides at different places must know English to communicate with people. People working at hotels cannot but use English with tourists from different countries. Postmen must know English, for addresses on envelopes from abroad are all written in the language. Telephone operators use English to make or receive calls. Books for mechanics also are mostly in English. Persons going abroad find the language very useful to communicate or study. It is, therefore, necessary that we should learn English.
A village fair[Com.B-14]
A villge fair is a fair which is held in a village. The people living in a village have no entertainments except the fairs. It is an important event in the life of the villagers. It is a great source of recreation. A village fair is generally held in an open space or held on the bank of a river or near a temple. The occasion may be religious or cultural according to the tradition of the local people. It is generally held in the month of chaitra and baishakh. Men and women of all ages find great delight in visiting the village fair. The things that attract all kinds of people including the children are exhibited and sold there. The rural craftsman and artisans exhibit and sell their hand made goods. Fancy goods such as toys, whistles, combs, hairpins, chief ornaments, cosmetics, looking glasses, balloons, doll etc. are sold in the fair. It lasts for a weak or a day. A village fair is a means of recreations, change and social get together of the village people.
A tea stall[Raj.B-14]
A tea stall is a small shop. Tea is a popular drink all over the world. It is a found in cities, towns, bazaars, railway stations, and bus-stands and even in villages. A tea stall is usually crowded. In a tea stall, there are few chairs, tables or benches. Prepared tea is sold here. Biscuits, cakes, loaf, bananas, cigarettes and betel leaf are sold here. There is often a boy or two to serve tea to the customer. The manager sits behind the cash box and collects money from the customer. An ordinary tea stall is dirty. A kettle is always kept hot on the stove. A tea stall opens in the morning and closes the late night. A tea stall is a popular place. Different kinds of people gather here. They refresh themselves with a cup of tea and discuss different topics. Sometimes they discuss politics in a tea stall. In the time of election it become very busy. A tea stall is an important place of social gathering indeed.
A street/road Accident [Jes.B-14]
A street accident has become a common incident in Bangladesh. We find the news of street accident in newspapers everyday. It is taken place by buses, trucks, rickshaws, baby-taxies etc. It is increasing day by day. It is a great problem in our country. Thousands of people die every year because of street accident. Most of the accidents generally take place in urban areas. There are many causes of a street accident. The reckless driving of the drivers are the main causes of it. The unconsciousness of the people is also responsible for increasing street accident. Most of the drivers are not willing to obey the traffic rules. On the other hand, passer-by are also busy. They do not use over bridge and use underground path. As a result a street accident is caused every-day. So we should try to solve i t. Traffic rules should be imposed. Passer-by and driver should be aware. Radio, T.V can play an important role in this regard. Govt. also should take proper step to solve this problem.

Load Shedding [Chi.B-14]

Load shedding means the discontinuity of supply of electricity for short or long time. It is a great problem in our country. Now-a- days it has become a part of our daily time. There are many reasons for load shedding . The insufficient production of the electricity is the main reason of it. Misuse and illegal connection of electricity are the other reasons of load shedding. It occurs mostly at night because the demand of electricity is more at night than day. It causes many other problems. Mills, factories, shops, hospitals, houses all fall victim to it. The sufferings of students know no bound. They sit in the darkness closing books during load shedding. The patients suffer because operation stops in hospitals for load shedding. Domestic life becomes painful. The food kept in refrigeration get rotten. In fact, load shedding causes great sufferings to the people. However, this problem should be solved at any cost. An all out effort should be made to stop load shedding.
Traffic Jam [Syl.B-14]
Traffic jam is a long line of vehicles in where many vehicles get stuck in jam. It occurs in big cities and towns. Our vehicles have increased but our roads have not increased. The drivers have little knowledge about traffic rules. Parking here and there and overtaking tendency are also the cause of occurring traffic jam. It brings great suffering to us. It kills our valuable time. We can not reach school, college, office and hospital in time. Ambulance and fire brigade can not go hurry up due to traffic jam. The number of roads should be increased. Traffic rules should also be imposed with an iron hand. After doing all this things we can hope traffic jam free country and save our valuable time.
Our school library[Bar.B-14]
A library is a storehouse of knowledge.  It  is a part and parcel of a school. No school is complete without library Our school library is a store-house of books. It has book of  different types. There are books on all subjects in our school library. Students can get any book issued in their names. Also, there are many journals and magazines in our school library. There are two big rooms. In one room there are books of science, history, literature, etc. in many languages. In this room, the books are arranged in almirahs and shelves. The other room of the library is the Reading Room. It is a quiet place. It remains open all day. Many students sit there and study. Our school librarian comes in the morning. He keeps the books in perfect order. He is very cooperative.
Our national flag
A national flag is the symbol of a nation. Every nation of the world has a national flag of its own. Bangladesh has also a national flag. Our national flag is rectangular is shape. Its size is at the ratio of 10: 6. The ground of the flag is deep- green in colour. A sun globe is in the middle of it. The radius of the sun globe is one-fifth of the length of the flag. The deep-green colour stands for the ever lasting freshness, youth, vigor and vitality of our nation. The sun globe signifies continuous and ever lasting life of our nation. It is the pride of our country.


A Rainy Day
A rainy day is dull and gloomy. The sky is overcast with thick clouds. None can go out without an umbrella. Water stands the roads and roads become muddy and slippery. Those who have offices and other businesses go out with umbrellas over their head, shoes in hand and clothes folded up to the knee. Passers-by also move in the same way. Sometimes people slip and fall on the muddy road. The poor suffer much on a rainy day. They cannot go out in quest of work and cannot earn their daily food. They pass the day through sufferings. Most of the students do not go to the school. Only a few go to the school, but they get drenched on the way. So, classes are not held and it is a day of great joy to them. Other people stay at home and pass the day without doing anything. The cattle keep standing in their sheds and bellow. A rainy day is a mixed day of joy and sorrow. Despite all its disadvantages, we enjoy ourselves on this day.
A Winter Morning
A winter morning is misty and cold. Sometimes sun is not seen because fog is very dense. Everything looked hazy. Nothing is seen clearly and people especially poor people suffer a lot. Village children and the poor people gather straw and make fires to warm themselves. The old people and the poor people bask in the sun. People in general and children get up late. In winter morning people like to eat various kinds of pitha.The farmer and other poor people get up early in the morning and go to there work. In winter they suffer a lot because they do not have good dress. When the fog gradually disappears everyone go to their work. A winter morning is very enjoyable to me.
A moonlit night
A moonlit night is really charming and enjoyable. It presents a beautiful sight. It dazzles our eyes and sooths our heart. In a moonlit night the moon looks like a disk of silver. The moon bathes the whole world with her silvery light. The watery places mean canals and rivers and tanks seem to smile on a moonlit night. The grand spectacles the canals, rivers and tanks present cannot be described in words. The whole nature looks bright and appears in celestial light. People of all age enjoy a moonlit night. Young boys play and little boys and girls make merriments and amuse themselves. Men and women of middle ages cannot come out of doors. They pass some hours in gossiping and storytelling and enjoy the right. Poets of all long a ages have sung highly of a moonlit night Even animals came out at night and little insects also fly here and there. A moonlit night in pleasant and fine indeed.
Tree Plantation
Tree plantation means planting trees more and more. It is called tree plantation. Tree is our close friend. We can not live without trees. We get oxygen from trees. Without oxygen we can not live. We get various fruits, foods, wood, shade and flowers from trees. We get many valuable medicines from trees. Trees are also a great source of materials for paper, rubber, gums, herbs etc.  Trees prevent air pollution. Tree saves us from natural calamity. Tree helps us in poverty. In word, without trees we can not live. But some people cut a lot of trees badly. They do not know without trees we can not live. We should plant trees more and more. At present government has taken a good step to plant trees more and more. So, we should help the government to plant trees more and more.
A Village Doctor
A village doctor is a man of great importance in the rural area. He is well known to the villagers. He renders great service to the villagers when the fall ill. He is not well qualified. He does not have a good schooling. He gathers experience by working under a qualified doctor or in a medicine shop. His dispensary offers a poor show with one or two worn out almirahs, an old wooden chair, a broken table and one or two benches. The village doctor leads a very hard and busy life. He gets up early in the morning. He begins to attend the patients at his dispensary just at 8:00 a.m. and finishes at late hours of the night. Though he sometimes worsens the disease of a patient, he is the most trusted person to the villagers. Villagers find him whenever they call for him. He shares their weal and woe. He consoles them and hears them words of hope. He treats his patients with sympathy. In spite of all his lack of knowledge and abilities, the village doctor, is no doubt, the best friend of the villagers.

My Daily Life/My Daily Routine

I am a student of class 8. I usually get up at 6:30 a.m. I wash my hands and face and brush my teeth. I take my breakfast at 7 a.m. After breakfast, I study for two hours. Then I bathe and start for school at 9:45 am.I attend my classes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the break, I have snacks. In the class, I listen to my teachers. I do my class work attentively. I return from school at 2:15 p.m.After lunch, I take some rest. At 5 p.m., I go to the field to play with my friends. I come back home at 6 p.m. After a wash, I go to my reading room. I study for 3 hours in a row.Usually, I take my dinner at 10 p.m. Then I watch television for half an hour. I go to bed at 11 p.m. Everyone should follow a daily routine to maintain discipline in life.

A Street Beggar 

The beggar who begs alms in the street is called a street beggar. He is a common sight in towns and cities. His hair is unbrushed and without oil. He is seen in patched up and torn clothes. His clothes are very dirty and bad smell emits from his clothes. Sometimes a street beggar is alone and sometimes in a company. A street beggar may be able-bodied, blind, lame or crippled. A street beggar has a bag hanging down his shoulder. When a passer-by walks past him, he stretches his begging bowl for alms. Sometimes he is seen reciting some sentences of the holy Quran or the Kalema and asks for the money in the name of Allah and his holy prophet. However, some passers-by who help them. If anyone refuses to give him something, he silently leaves the place and goes to another. Sometimes a street beggar earns a lot.
A School Magazine
A school magazine is a kind of periodical publication, which contains the writings and contributions the students and the teachers in a school. Every school publishes a school magazine every year. At first, a committee is formed for publishing the magazine. Then the committee asks the learners and the teachers to send their writings. The editor then corrects the writings. They select the publishable writings. The school magazine is generally open to all teachers and famous person outside the school is allowed to write in it. It also contains messages from the headmaster, assistant headmaster and the chairman of the school managing committee. There are short stories, poems, essays, verses, jokes, riddles and other writings related to studies, sports and cultural activities of the school. It often contains album of photography. A school magazine can play a vital role in improving the young learner’s habit of reading and writing. It can develop the students’ interest in literature. It stimulates their imagination and develops their creative powers. It is a mirror of the school. It adds to the glory and honor of the school.

A Railway Station
A railway station is place where trains stop for the passengers to get into and get off from the train. It is a busy place. It becomes very busy because of the arrival of trains. Here the passengers are found to stand in a queue to collect their tickets in front of the ticket counter. A big station is always crowded with passengers, hawkers, and posters. There are bookstalls, book-sellers and waiting rooms in such a stations. Vendors shout their trade cries. When a train reaches at the station, the passengers hurry to get off from the train. At the same time passengers waiting for the train want to get into the train. As a result, a collision of two groups of passengers takes place. The whistling sound of the departing train creates a situation of vacuum in the minds of the passengers. When the train leaves the station, it becomes deserted and buzzing sound of the passengers ends. A railway station is often a den for the anti-social elements. It is a suitable place for the beggars to carry on their trade. It is an unhygienic place too. The authority should look into it.

Physical exercise
Physical exercise means the regular movement of the limbs of our body according to rules. It helps to develop the growth of different organs of the body properly. Without physical exercise no one can enjoy a good health. It makes a man strong and active and keeps him free from diseases. He who takes physical exercise can build up a good health. On the other hand, he who does not take physical exercise regularly can not build up a good health. There is a proverb in English that a sound mind lives in a sound body. In order to have a sound mind in a sound body we should take physical exercise. It helps proper circulation of blood in out body and increases the power of digestion. But all sorts of exercise are not suitable for men and women of all ages. Walking is the best kind of exercise for all. Walking in the morning and evening refreshes our body and mind. There are many people who do not take physical exercise. They fall victim to many diseases. Physical exercise enables us to build a good health which is the key to success. Infact physical exercise is very essential for all. To lead a happy and healthy life we all should take regular physical exercise. 

A Teacher

A man or woman, who teaches the students in any educational institutions, is called a teacher.A teacher is a person who teaches his or her students and discovers their hidden treasures. He is a window opener for his students. A teacher opens up a new vast knowledge for them. A good teacher is a friend, philosopher and a guide to the students. He does everything to the students. He nurses the young minds as carefully as the gardener handles the saplings. The importance of his service knows no bounds .He teaches his students the methods of living because a good teacher knows the modern method of teaching.

A day labourer

A day labourer is a person who works all day long for earning his living. He is a common figure in our society. He and his family depend on his daily income. A day labourer gets up early in the morning and goes out for work depending only  on his manual labour. He does different types of jobs such as carrying bricks,wood, stones, mud and digging pons constructing of roads, buildings etc. He builds our buildings, industries, bridges and thus he serves our country. Though he works all day long, his income condition is miserable. If he can not earn a day his family is to starve. He feels happy when he earns the needful amount but becomes sad when he finds no work to do or gets physically ill.
A Farmer/The life of a farmer
A farmer is he whose profession is agriculture. He is most common figure in our country. Basically he is the main force of economy. He is called the father of food production. But they are devaluated. Without his role our country cannot go ahead. A farmer gets up early in the morning and then goes to the field to work. He works in the field all day long and procedures different kinds of crops. When a farmer produces good harvest , he enjoys a happy life with his family. His face beams with joy. But when he cannot produce good harvest, he enjoys a miserable life.
Early Rising
Early rising is leaving the bed very early. It is a good habit. The man who rises early can keep all the day’s work under his control. Some physical exercises and walking in the morning refresh both his mind walking in the morning refresh both his mind and body. He can enjoy natural beauty. This improves his health and increases his ability to work. Besides, it sharpens his thought and sense of beauty. Then he becomes keen on thinking about the creation. This makes him wise. This habit also paves the way of beginning the day’s work early. He gets more time to wake and can earn more and thus becomes wealthy. The man who does not rise early in the morning always feels lethargic and bored at work. He can never be punctual to carry out his daily activates. And he remains far away from being rich. Truly speaking. Early rising is the source is the health. Wealth and wisdom.
